Not that WP Standard explicitly said that the *inner* dimensions of the main compartment were 16” x 9” x 2”, but that was the assumption I made, because “main compartment” makes it sound like “when other pockets and the strap are ignored.”
The inner dimensions are really closer to 11”x8”x2”.
The strap measurement listed “adjustable from 33”-52”” seems like it would only be talking about the length of the strap itself—but includes the width of the main compartment.
I was expecting something much larger, with a much longer strap, which could be worn as a crossbody shoulder bag that would be at my hip. With the strap buckle set in the last belt hole, it’s closer to 50” including the main compartment’s width (the 52” is to the very end of the strap, which is a useless measurement because obviously there are no holes there).
I’m 5’11” and generally wear a size L in women’s tops or M in men’s tops, and if I wear this slung to the back—the bag sits at a comfortable height, about 2/3rds of the way down my back.
The quality seems quite nice, and I’m sure if I decide to keep it, it would hold up well, and the leather (I got the tan) would develop a really attractive patina from wear.
I’m still deciding whether I’ll keep it or not though, since the overall size of this bag is super disappointing. I can’t even imagine how tiny the regular sized sling bag must look on anyone my size, and how it probably doesn’t even fit the larger varieties of cellphones!
Anyhow, 3 stars bc the materials are nice, and the bag seems well made. I’d have been happy if I hadn’t been expecting something large enough to hold a daytime outing’s worth of stuff: say, a water bottle, wallet, phone, keys, tablet, pen and paper, a power bank, charging cord, sunglasses, etc. Realistically, it would hold the essentials (wallet, phone, keys) + a large handful of small items, or a few smedium items.
