Each pair is individually creamed, burnished and polished by hand. This provides slight variations in every pair which is the mark of truly handcrafted footwear -- allowing the look to get better by age.

Best Boots on the planet
These boots are sick!!! I wear a size 10 in Jordan 1’s and the 9.5 in these are perfect!!
perfect brown shoe
Fit is great. Quality superb. Comfortable right out of the box. Love the subtle yet impactful detailing. Perfectly designed for versatility - dress them up or down and look like a boss.
Not impressed
There was a problem with shipping and my boots arrived late. As such, they passed the 30 day return window. The boots didn’t fit properly and I wanted to return. Too bad. Now I’m stuck with boots that don’t fit properly (if you have wide feet, these boots are not for you). I’m also not thrilled about the quality, it doesn’t have the heft and weight of real boots. No, I am not overly impressed by this company and product.

Comfortable for me! (But you get what you pay for?)
These are beautiful, well made, and hand crafted boots for a fraction of the cost of well known hand crafted boot makers like White's. The right and left boots are noticeably different to my eyes, but these differences are cosmetic and subtle enough. I almost went through an exchange process*, but decided it wasn't worth it, because... To my absolute delight, these boots fit my small and very wide feet perfectly with little to no break in period! The sole at the toe is already a bit worn after about 50 miles of casual walking in these boots, but this is not a functional issue to my knowledge. I'm hoping the soles will last a year before a resole at my local cobbler. *FYI, if you are trying to exchange for a different size, you may have some trouble if they are low on stock.
Good boots
Very happy with the purchase so far. Have had them about 6 weeks. Boots are comfortable, didn’t require much break-in, and look sharp. Wear them 8 hours a day, 3 days a week.

Very nice looking and very comfortable. The tongues have a tendency to slip on the side of the shoe and do not stay centered. But overall great shoes
Absolutely love them
Absolutely love my new Sutro boots in black. Great unique styling but not so unique that they are goofy. Sutro hit the sweet spot in regards design. High quality at a reasonable price. I waited a long time for the right boot and I found it. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Sutro.

Super comfy and stylish!!!! I did get a gash in the boot, and I know I ordered a factory second so no refunds or exchanges but is there a way to get it repaired?

I came across Sutro in 2018, buying the first pair for my now future son-in-law. He loved them and he still wears them and they still look great. I got both a pair of the men’s alder Vibrem for my daughter and I, they look great. ( I was worried the men’s size would not fit but they did perfectly) I always get compliments on my Sutro boots, both my men’s alder and my Mendelle boots. I love that these are unique and have timeless look.

These boots are nice! I was skeptical about the size as I usually wear a size 10 in boots. They recommended going a half size down and they were right. The 9.5 feels good with their insoles, but I always remove them in shoes I buy and put my own in. They are a little tight with the ones I have but I figured that. Plus the boots will stretch a little anyways over time. Great purchase so far after a few uses.

I sent it back and am exchanging for the Charlton, which I am looking forward to. The Alder was too small , and I ordered the size smaller as suggested. It was suggested that one do this, it was too small. I contacted Sam, and he said to send it back to exchange. Which I just did. I also ordered two of the nice bifold wallets. And was only sent one. See pic of package weight being 1 oz. I like the products.

I have been wanting these boots for over a year. They look good with literally any outfit. The quality is amazing. The color of the leather is beautiful. Would 100% buy again
